"I've worked in IT since 1988, when I left university with a degree in Physics, and throughout that time I've worked with companies ranging from start-ups to international banks.Throughout my career I've fought to challenge perceptions within IT, and with Meantime I've managed to bring together a team of extremely talented and experienced people who think exactly the way I do; that IT systems can and should be delivered on time, on budget and to the exact specification of the client. I'm passionate about my work, and committed to proving to our clients that IT systems can help them to grow, not hold them back."

"When I’m away from the office, I like to spend time with my children, go to gigs, record my radio show, write, run, swim, drink coffee and read. And occasionally I like to lie on my sofa and do nothing: I have spent a lifetime honing my napping skills!"

"Outside of work I like to train in the gym (which is actually my garage now as I have two kids and like to train before they wake up). I also like consuming large amounts of the Earth’s bandwidth via Sonos, Netflix and other streaming services."

I'm BCS (ISEB) certified in System Testing and ITIL certified in Service Management and I work closely with clients to ensure that our systems are tested thoroughly and work exactly as per the agreed requirements. I've been in this business a long time in various roles and I'm passionate about quality. Testing isn't always at the forefront of a client's mind, but it's an imperative part of what we do here at Meantime."

"I've always been fascinated by how things worked. In my youth, I had a ZX81 and a Spectrum 128k and I would spend evenings building diary & database programs. When I made the move to web development, at the turn of the millennium, it was a dream come true to think that I could build things that could be used by an enormous audience. I became a freelance developer in 2008, having built a project management system that I developed and maintained for several clients, and used the freedom to work for a number of businesses programming in PHP, Ruby and Javascript. I've always enjoyed fresh challenges and since I've joined Meantime, I have had the opportunity to develop innovative software which will enrich and enhance business environments and benefit the people working there."

"Outside of work, I like to spend time with my family outdoors. And on rainy days, my two girls make sure that I watch plenty of Shaun the Sheep and My Little Pony."

"I've always been the sort of person who pulls things apart to find out how they worked, so when the web came along that was no different - I spent years dismantling websites and teaching myself coding. Having achieved qualifications in Java and Oracle, I decided to make development a full time career and I was delighted to find this role at Meantime; it allows me to put into practice everything that I've been doing over the last few years, as well as working with a great team of people who share my passion for web development."

"I started my career in the Netherlands, my home country. I spent eight years with the software provider Fadiro, developing a system that manages every aspect of travel agencies and taking it from conception to market leader. From there I moved into medical software, where I stayed until I married a local lady and moved to the UK. I worked on a freelance basis with a range of different clients including a network of schools in Barbados. Unfortunately, they didn’t require site visits. I’m very happy to be part of the Meantime team and, as an added bonus, I have the Lake District on my doorstep."

"When I completed my degree in graphic design I had a real urge to learn more about HTML and CSS, so I took on extra training while I was working as a graphic designer. Although I loved print design, it didn't excite me the way web design did - the whole process is much more satisfying, and because technology is changing all the time it never gets stale or dull. I love taking a project from the initial concept right through to the end result. Working with the rest of the team to deliver a product that's valued and relied on by the client is incredibly satisfying."

"I’m a keen sailor, so I spend a lot of time sailing around the Kyles of Bute. I also spend as much time as possible with my West Highland Terrier, Charlie."

"I can't remember a time when I wasn't interested in computers but for the past six years I've been a hobbyist programmer, learning everything from C to Python, computer graphics to web design. I studied Information Technology at Kendal College and then moved down to London to study Computer Science at King's College, determined to build a career in software development. This ambition has come true through my role at Meantime where I'll be working as part of the team to produce more blazing fast, reliable and elegant systems."

"When I'm not maintaining my own Linux servers or engaged in my personal programming projects I love collecting and playing video games from retro to modern - but I still manage to squeeze in time for reading, biking and hiking!"

"I studied computer science at the Open University. This gave me a good grounding in the sort of technologies I needed to get a job. We studied everything from conceptual system models and algorithm design to UX (that’s user experience) design. And of course, we covered the more practical side of programming through PHP, JAVA and PYTHON. In fact, before I started at Meantime I worked as a PHP developer, using marketplace APIs to ensure the warehouse ran efficiently. I’m sure I'll be challenged even more here!"

From my past experience working in restaurants, pubs and garden centres I'm used to adapting to lots of tasks - waitressing and washing pots, cleaning, and helping people. I'm already using this flexibility in my work at Meantime as I create a new training management system and re-script templates into PHP."
